Hi,

Ive just bought a fabia estate (04plate) and i have discovered a rantom pull lever in the little storage box under the main light switch.

It has 'on' stamped on the end of it. Can anyone shed any light onto what it could be.

Many thanks in advance.

It's the NOS switch...

Don't, whatever you do pull it!

Don't click this link either. Danger!

Omg dont pull it, it starts a nuclear war!!!

(Amazing how many people don't read the Manual lol)

Edit - let's just hope he doesn't find the rotating black hole in the glove box!!

Well the Nos bottles were attached to the ejection seat and the nuclear missile was the thrust for the seat. Oh well, i will have to list it as a 4 seater now! maybe it will bring the insurance down.

Sadly it didnt come with a manual, just the service book.

Thanks for your help tho guys, it has definitely answered my next three questions! ;-)

  It's a cat release button !

How did you know i had a cat? are you following me??

Still want to know?? It's the lever to open the A/C onto the small compartment so you can keep a can of soda cold, just like the "rotating black hole in the glove compartment". Although i read the manual, it took me some time to figure this out! After i changed the internal evaporator of the A/C, which needed the whole of the dashboard to be taken off and reattached again, it stopped getting any cold air out

It's a standard Skoda feature !
Don't you know it's legacy ? Ok...this is it. It all started back in early '90s when..

Volkswagen wanted to improve the quality of Skoda cars, so they take the Skoda workers to the Volkswagen plant. The Skoda workers notice that there a big cage with cats inside it. "What's that for?", they ask. "It's for testing the door seals of new cars. In the evening we put a cat into a car, and if the cat runs out of oxygen, we know that the seal is good."
One month later, Volkswagen's boss goes to the Skoda plant to see if the quality has improved. Everything seems to be the same as before, but there is a big cage with cat inside it. "What is that?", they ask. "It's for testing new cars. In the evening we put a cat into a car, and when the cat is inside in the morning, we know that the car is good."

The cats had to get out somehow...

Did any one of you "CLEVER" posters read the guys post count.

SO OW ,perhaps the clever clogs will have had their fun ( and perhaps Colin might remind those posters looking for a cheap laugh about helping new posters) and decide to give newbies a chance.

It's keeps a note pad and pen cool/cold for me when in use lol.

I've always though it odd they put an air con duct in the same little cupboard they put a pen holder in?!

As one of the other posters has said, you could put a can or chocolate bar in there though if you wanted to which is reasonably useful in the summer when the car is boiling.
