Long Life Servicing

Featured Replies

My search for a good Octy diesel estate goes on, an I've found a reasonably priced 2007 elegance with 90k on the clock and one owner from new.

My concern is that its on long life servicing when indicated on the display but has only been main dealer serviced on the first service, its been serviced locally thereafter, possibly only once although potentially it could be twice, so its been service either two or three times in total, the last one being at 76k.

I've been told that the local garage used the correct spec Shell Helix oil.

Would this cause you guys any concerns? It's a nice car, but its also right at the top end of my budget and still a two hour trip to view.

I'd probably just keep looking. The servicing seems on the low side to me for a 90k motor if its only been serviced three times in 8 years.

A decent indy may even have serviced the car to a better standard than a franchise.

Myself I'd be looking for a car that was on fixed servicing especially if you're looking at older higher mileage cars.
