Rapid rear light removal

Featured Replies

Well, you have to try these things so you know what to do if and when the time comes don't you!

My handbook (page 175) shows a "Clamp for removing full wheel covers" (looks like a bit of wire with a loop at one end to hook your fingers through). I don't have one of these, maybe they are for cars with steel wheels?

What I do have is the tool number 2 on page 155 "Key for removing and installing the tail light" (photo attached) - which I guess is the "key" referred to on page 175 (as in "Unscrew the screws B with the key from the tool kit".

So how do I get the cover off - just a bit of bent wire coat hanger stuck in the little hole then heave it off sideways? Or is there a spring-loaded catch in there somewhere that I risk breaking if I use brute force?

Just over the page from here, in the other Rapid section is a thread (with loads of pictures) about upgrading to LEDS.  Pictures show full dismantling of rear lights. :)
