Going to change the rubber boot on my cv joint tomorrow. Do I need to remove the ABS sensor from the back of the hub before I pull the cv shaft out of the housing? If so how.

Not sure whether you actually need to remove it, but if you do it's just a locking tab connector that comes off relatively easily.

 

Thought I read somewhere that the actual sensor could be damaged easily when removing and re-inserting the shaft.

If so take the sensor out.

It's one bolt after undoing the plug.
