Some help needed regarding adding new bits to MK1 Octavia VRS

Featured Replies

Hi all posted a topic the other day but thought I would start a fresh one here as it seems to be the right section.

I have a 2003 Octavia Vrs and would like to get a bit more out of her.

So far she has air filter, stage 1 map, lightened balanced flywheel, sports clutch, recirc valve all from Awesome GTI.

My exhaust is now on last legs so want a full decat system. Found a place in preston that will custom build full system from downpipe decat and through for £450 fitted. Had a friend already use him and he's well happy.

Should I change my manifold??? And should I get 2 1/2" or 3" I want a nice rumble but I'm 41 so not boy racer lol also mot is not a problem so assume decat is better than sports cat??

I have just ordered a set of Audi tt 225 injectors with the rail and the little thing on the end of the rail ??? Don't know what this is called but told i need it lol

Planning on getting exhaust fitted then having cam belt water pump done and fit injectors. Then going Awesome GTI to get the stage 2 remap.

What else should I be doing or will defy need to do

I assume i need to change the fuel pump if so which is best as read the fuel starvation problems with some pumps... what about 4bar lcr ??

Can I do anything to the actuator???

What about changing the Turbo although think this is out my price bracket

Was looking at the forge intercooler but was told I would end up with lag as I don't do track days just like my daily run to work and the weekends

Anything I can do with the Throttle body ???

Platinum plugs are they worth it

I have also ordered some polybushes for my from arms as i seem to get through them and drop links at an alarming rate. what other bushes should I change to polybushes???Engine mounts???Bottom dog clip mount????

What is a N75 valve and a N249 bypass and t.I.p

Sorry for my ignorance on things but bit of a noob. I seem to break more than I fix

Any info help prices shops or anything really will be most welcomed...thanks

have a look at my website (link below) for various guides for the bypasses and stuff. Also have a browse of the Octavia technical guides section here, there are some great how-tos.

The thing on the fuel rail from a 225TT will be a 4 BAR FPR (fuel pressure regulator).

The standard pump supplies 3 BAR so you might need to uprate it. You can use an S3 one, Seat Leon Cupra R one or an aftermarket pump.

I polybushed the rear beam, wishbones and anti-roll bar. Dogbone mount (lower engine/gearbox mount) makes a big difference too.

I also added a 3" MAF from a TT which means a new TIP (pipe from intake to turbo)

Changing MAF and injectors requires a custom map. Bigger MAF without map will make the engine run lean which is bad :D
