Aircon condensed water leaking into car

Featured Replies

I understand that there was a problem with the water condensing off the air con unit leaking back into the car and that the fix was really nothing more than extending the drain pipe. I have a recently acquired 4/04 1.9 TDi - would mine be prone to this problem, and can I easily check to see if the mod has been done. I was told that I could see the tube under the bonnet, at the bulkhead behind the engine somewhere, but the person who told me this was talking about a VRs he had had dealings with and neither my car or his was available at the time to look at.

Would like to know as am not using aircon much at the moment but the cold damp weather is starting so will need it soon and don't like the idea of soggy carpets.

Run up the a.c and see if you get a puddle under the car, if yes dont worry.

Hi Octman,

I'm now having the exact same issue, did you get it resolved?

If so, what do I need to do?

Thanks,

Dan

Don't think he will answer you as he was last active on the forum in June 2014.
