Wingmirror indicator lens

Featured Replies

Hey all

Smashed part of the drivers side wingmirror indicator somehow, annoyingly. It's a 2010 Skoda Octavia 1.6tdi, do I need to replace whole wingmirror or is there a bit for the indicator?

Can't see any screws etc to get the indicator off so assume I need to somehow replace the whole thing.

Any help/link to part appreciated!

Dave

Pull mirror housing out or in to get to the inner edge, then lever  on an angle with trim removal tools , you can buy it separate, all vag mirrors are similar, found a u tube link , saves me typing more, I just worked mine out!

Hugely helpful, thanks!

The mirror indicators have just about failed on the offside and the nearside is looking a bit patchy. Think I will try to replace one.
Any links to a supplier of the part? A search in Amazon only gets me lenses or complete mirrors. Found one  for £19.70 net under Skoda2 not under Octavia :dull: .

Are they an MOT failure BTW?

Yup, you will fail if they don't work or are obscured or have excessive deterioration (amongst other things): http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual_140.htm

Ok thanks. The offside has the slightest glimmer from one LED and the nearside has two LED at full brightness. How many LED are there in the repeater maybe 4 ? So I hope two are ok pro tem. Bring back bulbs if all those blow in 6 years. One filament indicator has been replaced in 6 years.

With LED lights for the MoT a minimum of 50% must light at full brightness.

Buy original aftermarket dont fit perfect and have to be modified.

You do need a long thin screwdriver to get to the screws but it's not a hard thing to get out or fit when you have the trim off.
