Pick yourself up an MCN this week (60th anniversary issues!)

Featured Replies

Lots of great stuff in this week's MCN.

Rossi full sized pictures.

Best bike and best riders of the last 60 years.

Agree with almost everything they print (except perhaps the XT500, hmm)

A real trip down memory lane, even though I am too young to remember seeing John Surtees race etc (the only person to win both bike and car world championships).

Rossi is the best rider of the last 60 years!

Not many would disagree.  Some great posters of the man including one of him at Goodwood on the Yam with the classic yellow and the black block design, beautiful.

I would love to ride most of the bikes, if not the XT500. Had a H1, would have loved to try and H2 and Z1.  Some of the Dukes are just the Ferrari of the bike world.

Just need some more frames, nails and string.

I don't really like the: what is the best bike? or who is the best rider ever? I think there are many fantasticly talented riders, but to say who the best is not possible. I am a big Rossi fan, he maybe the best rider of this era but to say he is the greatest of all time I don't think is that simple as it is all relative.

Hailwood was an amazing racer and could jump on anything and still race it and win. But Hailwood did not have the technical ability to set up a motorbike. Of course one can not discount John Surtees or Geoff Duke.

Some say Kenny Roberts was one of the greats, but equally impressive was Freddie Spencer. Lawson was a very smooth racer, like Lorenzo, but he was equally as boring to what.

It is only a bit of a stimulus and reminder of what has gone before.

Kenny Roberts was perhaps the first true professional.  Surtees won world titles on both 2 and 4 wheels.

Some Isle of Man riders are fantastic but were never in MotoGP and then you have WSB heros like Foggary and Bayliss.

Some bikes broke the moulds, the CB750, Z1 etc.  Z900R, R1.  ZZR1400.
