Interior queries

Just thought about these, didn't notice them but then again wasn't specifically looking:

- coat hook just behind top of seatbelt

- submarine downlights, really like them on my mk2

Anyone know if they are in the mk3

Yes, coat hooks were on the models I viewed. Which downlights lights are you referring to exactly?

The small LEDs above the gearlever, in the interior light cluster.

the ones we have seen don't have the sub marine lights

but can spec the 3 colour lights in the dash and doors, L&K have these anyway

Just a thought Coops but at the end of the configurator for the model and options chosen there is a choice to save the Car Card which lists the items associated with the car for interior, exterior, safety etc....I guess it is not a complete list but it is a good guide across model ranges as to whats in and whats out.....See attached. Hope it helps..

Called "Cats Eye Lighting" if I remember correctly.

Definitely not included in the Superb III.

Also missing is the sunglasses holder if you have the sunroof (though that might have been the case in the Superb II too, but mine doesn't have a sunroof so I wouldn't know).

Well that's disappointing, my last three cars have had this feature, Mondeo, 3 Series & Mini :(

I am hoping that the ambient lighting in the dash will be sufficient ... if not then it’s time to modify  :D

Same lighting panel as Mk7 Golfs fitted with LED interior lighting. Defo no catvision...was surprised by that omission on my GTD given the door trims and sills illuminate as well.

My SII L&K with sunroof has sunglass stowage. Yes, I don't remember seeing in SIII L&K with sunroof but the SE L non-sunroof had it.

Well us poverty spec SE Business drivers don't have such luxuries, poor us :(

Do you guys actually live in these cars or just use them for transport :notme:

I spend a minimum of 30 days* in it a year - more than some rooms in the house... By rights it should have wallpaper, skirting boards, pot plants and a feature wall in a contrasting colour!

* 216 commuting days (less weekends, days WFH, or holidays) x ((90 minutes am commute) + (110 minutes pm commute)) = 43,200 minutes, or 720 hours, or 30 days. Weekend and holiday travel is extra.

Hell - I just realised I've been doing that for the last 15 years... so at 30 days a year that's 1.2 years in the car...

One thing I did notice which I will miss are the rear ventilation vents on the B pillars that blew onto the rear passenger windows.

When it was wet outside and you were soaked through causing the car to stream up, they made a real difference clearing the windows when combined with the air con.

Our Shih Tzu will miss them too but on the plus side she now has a zone to herself with appropriate training.....

Shame they have dropped some of the smaller touches alright. I do like the cats eye lighting. Sometimes the small details make all the difference!

I'm looking forward to the new ambient lighting though.... What colour to chose? I think blue will look best....

Really, mine barely do anything and are pretty useless IMO

Mine worked well on both Superbs I owned. I find that even with the air con on max continuously, my Octy 3 struggles to clear the rear side windows.

If there wasn't a heater rear window I'm not sure it could cope with that either.

I will miss the side vents and the cats eye lights. Gizmo68 (I think) was thinking about modifying his so it had them. Would be interesting to see if it's doable.
