The wifes Fabia MKIII SE-L has auto lights and auto dim interior  mirror,  can rain sensor wipers be activated by VCDS or is it a factory jobbie ?

Worth a try. The auto lights and wipers use the same sensor. The mirror is nothing to do with it. I think people have deactivated the auto wipers on Octavias.

I'm sure there's a thread regarding this and, I might be wrong here, you can fit the rain sensor and activate via VCDS.
