Is the boot of the Superb big enough?

Featured Replies

Finally went to have a look at the new Superb Est at my local dealer, stunning looking car in the flesh.

But, I'm not sure the boot is big enough for my dog :o

Incase your interested he's a 40kg German Shepherd, standing on his back legs he is about 5ft 10!

Yes, length wise it's huge but width...only 1metre wide?

My current Volvo XC60 is 1.13m wide. We have a Travall dog guard & divider, so he has half the boot.

In the Superb, he will have 7cm less width to turn in :smirk:.

The dealer wasn't to keen to let my little dog have a trial fitting though :giggle:

Get a trailer.

I'm sure the dog will manage.

In some ways, the less room they have to bang about in, the better it is.

Ask it not to stand up, it's an unreasonable request.

Mine used to be perfectly happy in a Mk2 polo with the seats down, so I'd say he'll be fine. He was somewhat larger than yours.

Trying to get a test drive from the lease company at the moment, really like the car and I should save approx £80 per month compared to my XC60!...and that's for a 150 dsg SE Business with Bi-Xenon lights, towbar, Canton upgrade & metallic paint.

I doubt you'll find anything with a bigger boot unless you move up to a van, or a large MPV and remove the 2nd & 3rd row of seats...

On paper the Superb 3 estate's boot should be something like 20% bigger than the boot of our current Mk4 Mondeo estate.

In reality, having been to look at one, I'd say it's about the same. The Mondeo's boot is 10-15cm wider, slightly longer front to back, but from boot floor to load cover is slightly shallower than the Superb 3.

Overall - not much, if any, difference at all. Not the massive increase I was expecting. I guess manufacturers measure differently.
