Is this the right one of my fabia

Will it affect the flow to have the outlet welded to the right angle to fit the intercooler pipe work?

  • For 200bhp I would look at either a GT1752VB hybrid or GT1756VB hybrid. A much better turbo is the GTB1756VK from XMAN.

  • I would definitely go small GTB over a hybrid

  • THIS ^^^^^    Much rather have a "stock" bigger turbo putting less effort in than a smaller hybrid working its ass off.

Is suggest messaging him on here rather than eBay. His fee's on that will be about £50 I think so no dout give you a discount on here.

This has sold the GTB1756vk to me

That was one of the very first ones I mapped. :)

Will be defiantly be dropping you a message once I start ordering parts!

Sent you a message anyway mate.

Stock GT1749VB running 1.7bar and 33.5 degrees of duration at 4000rpm. Owner did say its smokes a little so for smoke free you'd have to back the fuelling off a little and thus power.

203bhp at 4000 RPM

320lbsft at 2900 RPM

Looks good, I'm trying to limit it to 180 for now. Would that produce less smoke?

With a stock GT1749VB your should make a smoke free 190bhp.

Still not sure what turbo at the moment, was tempted my the gtb1756vk. Which one would be better around town and ok for 200bhp at some point in the future?

Sounds like you just need a stock GT1749VB. No fancy hybrids with machines out exhaust turbines. Just a bog standard VB.

Attached is boost logs comparing GT1749VB, GTB1756VK and GTB2260VK.

The dip in power and torque doesn't really look any different than a good hybrid, in fact mine doesn't dip in power till after 4500 rpm - it's building all the way to 4500.

So back to a bolt on GT17/52 possibly?

Good for 180 for now or 215 if you fancy it.

It works :p

Its hard to tell if its any good tbh, i have a tame map of 165bhp..plan was to use faboka for a remap, but will have to wait now as ive been given a nice new issue to deal with...

Is it possible to keep the cat with a gtb turbo? Or do I need a bigger bore downpipe?

  • 3 weeks later...

Does anyone have any pictures of how much how is involved to make the 2.5" downpipe fit a GTB? On a standard manifold on the short manifold xman is selling.

Looking to order turbo this week [emoji2]
