2.0 Vrs Pd holding back/missing >3krpm

Recommended Posts

2007 56 2.0 vrs PD, holding back and sort of missing sort of surging for want of a better description above 3krpm in the top 3 gears, some days worse than others. Idle is fine, driving day to day is normal and perfect. Management light is on for a glow plug on 3, don't know if that would affect anything but wouldn't have thought so? The old shed is between DPFs at the minute, well up to date on servicing and wot not and well maintained. I'm probably going to try some non asda diseasel and a bit of injector cleaner tomorrow and give it another blast. Not the end of the world just irritating is all. Any ideas guys and gals? Thanks in advance

Yes, about 8 weeks ago. It's always had a bit of a hole in the power (once again, some days worse than others) when you give out the full beans in 4th in retrospect but lately it's become a bit more noticeable. If it was an aspirated petrol engine I would say mega lean, that sort of fluttering and total gutlessness. It doesn't feel like it drops a pot either, it's all 4 cylinders that aren't getting something they need.

Mine does the same some days fine some days misses once or twice in a day then fine, it's had a bottle of injector cleaner and only use shell diesel in it, past few days it's been ok not noticed it and I've given it a thrash which may of helped, don't drive it everyday and I guess town driving don't help

Only code is the glow plug one. Obviously I only have a primitive android scanner but I've tried a couple of Apps and they only throw up the glow plug code. One thing I forgot to mention is it's quite whizzy and chirpy, sounds like an old escort turbo with a k and n and a -31 actuator. Seems to hold the boost well though, just seems to starve itself over 3k. Odd.
