rear washer octavia vrs

Featured Replies

so mine packed up not uncommon i know!

so i picked up one from a scrappy now this was off a mk2 all seemed fine no leaks until i connected it all up properly then started leaking from the black connector on the pump  , so picked up another one again not the same part number as the original no leaks from first test until again i connected it all up bolted it down started using the wiper again leaks from the connector,

is there too much pressure on the connector? surely they all deal with the same flow rate regardless of what age car there from, and to me if they fit the same way then it should work>>??? any ideas?

seems once the hose to the wiper is connected its leaks

I would say you may have a blocked line in the wiper arm, causing back pressure, is it coming out of the jets ok?

Could also be the end that goes on the motor outlet is stretched and not tight anymore. Think I've got a rear wiper arm with hose somewhere if you need one. They're not the most water tight things, hence all of the associated issues.

seems to be out the jets ok . i will  give them a clean tomorrow see how it goes after that or another one will be sent back

They are a pain in the anus to be honest. I forked out for a new Valeo one in the end as I actually liked having one, but even that was on last chance saloon, would have blanked it if it had gone again.

By the way I also made sure the hose that connects to the water feed was zip tied tight as ****

so im thinking myabe just maybe more hoping to be honest , i was testing the wiper with the boot up and maybe just maybe gravity is causing me issues! nobody uses the wiper with the boot up so i shall try it with the boot closed and climb in the boot see if it leaks!

I was thinking that, try with your boot panel off so you can see, shut it and test from inside the car. I think you do get some run out like that, may make it look worse than it actually is

In mine you can see that the crappy cast metal they use corrodes and blocks the jet. The best option is to buy a new wiper arm, minus blade if you can. Or you can do what i do and pour water on it and wipe with a cloth or the blade.

I'll get round to fixing it one day but for now it can rot for all i care.

well i blasted the air line up it came out fine, tried another motor today again it leaked such a mother ****er!   maybe i need bite the bullet and buy new

Nightmare mate, my valeo one was about £75. You not tempted to blank it? Proper blanks with a nice finish on ebay and at Awesome GTI

was tempted but i do find it usefull in the winter all the crap that gets on the screen plus early morning dew

I know what you're saying, I miss it now I don't have one on the Saab, and I'm from the 'if it is supposed to be there it must work' line of thinking.

\Are you sure that the pipe has not streched enough to allow fluid past the join?, might be worth cutting 5-6 mm from the end of the pipe to see if matters improve if you have enough slack in the pipe.

are you talking the pipe that connects to the motor?  or the wiper?

At the wiper jet end.

That seems tight to be honest

Awesime GTI are not the greatest place but they are ok for bits n bobs.

I prequoted my future 02-03 rs6 (my next car in a few months) for a emap to 510hp and they claim it needs a tmap to handle the power which is incorrect. They wanted £689 to send the both computers to APR in the usa and it'll take 2 weeks..

Not happy with that so I'll go elsewhere. I want it done the day i turn up in it.

Fair enough, only suggested them for a blank lol. They sorted me a rarb pretty effectively too. I've never had a problem with them personally
