Tried it today and pretty much ran two friends over! Was in first gear gently accelerating towards them and it did nothing!

Might have to do a test with some boxes to check the system, but I wasn't impressed!

You have to drive fast enough to get it working. Better not try it at all. ;-)

Yeah had it as an option. I was going fairly quickly lol. Will try it out with a blanket at some point.

I have sometimes had the idea to test the system but I have always lost my bottle before the system deployed! Using a blanket sounds like a good idea.

 

Having looked at videos on You Tube, it does seem to leave it till the last minute before activating. Sensible I suppose otherwise it would be continually dabbing the brakes in slow moving traffic. 

 

I'm pretty sure that this is sold as a system to help prevent rear ending someone rather than a pedestrian safety device so perhaps we shouldn't expect it to work on people. If the laser is "static" always pointing ahead down the centre of the car it might not have detected your friends ...

That's why I went for the option, I thought it it stops you rear ending someone at a junction or round about (not that I have ever done so) then it would have paid for itself.

I think it only works less than 19mph?

The OP could of atleast aimed for 2 people he didnt like.. Just incase it didnt work. .

It works and gives you a jump when you are not expecting it. triggered it a few times when going past cars turning off the road.
