any nexus device love in here ?

Featured Replies

I've had the Nexus 5 for about 20 months now...been a great phone and v happy with it. The new 5X looks nice, but I really don't think I can justify an upgrade. Slightly disappointed that 32GB is the max available size, but I suppose they're wanting people to do the cloud thing.

Personally, I'm not a fan of huge screens (and some phones today are way too big IMHO), so I'm glad they haven't upped the size too much on the new 5X.

Maybe if/when the price drops a bit I'll think about it. Or I suddenly become fabulously wealthy

Yup also disappointed no 64gb version on the LG.

Not sure I'd trust Huawei given most governments ban their kit because of allegedly eavesdropping for China. It's also quite a dull design and not getting favourable reviews from what I've seen compared to the LG

I think the 5x has been intentionally throttled by Google

Only one speaker

Only 2gb of ram (which before haters starting moaning its more than enough for stock android)

And no wireless chargiing

Lower burst speed recorder frame rate

Low capacity battery

It seems as though Google want to try and force people to buy the 6

I can understand why that does not allow wireless charging as its metal

yet Google seemed to champion wirelss charging even back in the nexus 4 days and pushed and pushed for it so it seems strange for them to u turn on the 5x which is plastic body

They don't release figures but they did state the original nexus 5 was the best selling nexus thus far

As regards huwaei I have never owned anything by them and I wonder how much they back handed Google to help break into the us market but by all accounts they are a massive company

Running a stock rom or even aosp rom I don't see an issue with privacy (apart from Google's own)

My heart is wanting the 5x but after rocking my current 6 for a year now I do enjoy a larger screen so the 6p will be my choice as soon as o2 allow me to preorder

Regard the 32gb/64/128gb to me 32gb is more than enough I don't store music on mine and all photos are backed up every night plus every update android gets I like to do a fresh install with the factory images

Have a 2012 Nexus 7.

Google have progressively made it more and more crap with every update. Very unimpressed with a device which was once very slick now running like a dog. Andoid support ending now as well they're not porting V6.0 to the older devices.

Xda forums will do a 6.0 rom the chefs on them boards cook up some awesome ROMs just check the source before flashing

My old desire HD which never officially received 4.0 jelly bean was flashed all the way to 4.3 with good stable working ROMs even ran the latest htc sense

No wireless charging? WTF

My 5x arrived this afternoon, seems very smooth although a little larger than i expected!

Nexus 6 and Nexus 10 here, best phone I've ever owned. Must say I'm not really looking to change it any time soon, it really flies, camera is good, screen exceptional. Really no need to change it. Putting the OTA Marshmallow on tonight, wish me luck.

My nexus 5x arrived the other day. I'm really enjoying it. It's much better than the nexus 4 I had previously.

I got the ota marshmallow update last night. Not been home to use my WiFi yet to download yet though.

All seems to be working well at the moment. 700MB+ download mind.

Apparently the 6p has a hardware fuse called qfuse which is blown if you unlock the bootloader and cannot be undone.

An Android pay fail safe?

Well Marshmallow promised improved battery life, out delivered it for sure. Really noticeable improvement. The rest of it looks broadly similar to before, all nice and stable so far.

My OTA download downloaded but then nothing...it hasn't installed or anything and about phone says I am up to date and running lollypop still. The ota deffo said it was marshmallow...is there a way to find the downloaded file?

Restart your phone

There's a chance the OTA has been pulled due to the Wifi battery drain issue
