Hey guys i own a Skoda Octavia 1.9 mk1 (2006) in india, its clocked abt 90,000kms, what an amazing car but in the last couple of months ive noticed that whenever the breakes are applied the brakes make squeaking noise. I got it inspected by my local garage who suggested changing the brake pads, we then replaced them with original ones but it started making that noise again in lesss than 48hrs, i once again had them replaced but the noise still persists. Pl let me know what i can do to get rid of that noise it's really annoying

It's usually caused by the pads and shims vibrating. Copper grease on the back of the pad helps a lot

That's exactly what I was going to say, but important safety notes:-

  1. You need the merest smear of grease on the back plate where it goes against the shim or piston.
  2. DO NOT get any grease on the friction material or discs.
