folding mirrors

Featured Replies

Hello every one

I have a skoda superb mark II and will it be possible to fold door mirrors in driving mode as this perk can allow me to get through very narrow gaps through traffic or drive ways. If you have done this then please do share

Thanks

can't you simply select to fold in the mirrors using the mirror adjust knob on the door?

At speeds of up to 50kph you should be able to fold the exterior mirrors once the mirror adjustment control (on the drivers door) is put in the fold position. I do it all the time on narrow streets or roads.

Hi jonatan, no they don't fold once in drive..

Hi superb170, isn't it just wicked when you have to get through narrow spaces you just fold the mirrors and fly through, and the driver behind you just sits there for the gap to widen up.....time for a screw driver and open up some guts on the car. I am sure there is some kind of switch that is linked at the gear shifter.

thanks guys

Mine fold in fine using the mirror adjust knob.....

Do you not have a mirror adjuster switch like this on the drivers door?

Once the circular adjuster is set in the position indicated, your mirrors should fold.  I tried them again yesterday and certainly in slow moving traffic they will adjust at low speeds.  In most cases though, when a space is that tight you will probably be stopped or close to stopping anyway so I can't see how they wouldn't work.

hello again superb170. yes that's right, I have that switch and the funny thing is all you guys can fold in while in drive, and on mine only when parked. I wonder if volkswagon got something to do with it !!

Mine do not fold in when moving....

Looking back now I see that I mentioned that it works up to 50 kph in my earlier post. I should have said around 20 kph - so around 15 mph.

I'll give that a go and report back. Our MKI can fold in at all speeds so I'd assumed the MKII would be the same...
