Rainwater etc leaks in on passenger side only

Featured Replies

I have a 2001 Skoda Fabia Comfort 1.4.

About a month ago when it was raining, water started coming in on the passenger side, and pooling on the passenger side floor. I took out the glove compartment to see where it was coming in. It drips down from somewhere behind the heating fan. Water comes in if it's raining, if I wash the car, or even if I pour water down the front around the area of the windscreen wipers. Has this happened to anyone else?

When people talk about air-conditioning do they mean the manual heater and fan, or do they mean climate control? I have the first two, but I don't have climate control. In other words, do all Skoda Fabias have a pollen filter?

Hi mcdublin,

Welcome to the site, I'm also from Dublin.

I've sent you a private Message

The parts list shows that part is fitted to cars with and without aircon.

Welcome to Briskoda. :D Water leaks are fairly common in the Fabia. Yours sounds as if it might be coming from the pollen filter due to it not having been seated properly. Try Search - Fabia pollen filter - and you should get plenty of results including the one below:

Success! I took it to a Skoda dealer today, was able to explain exactly what was going wrong and what needed fixing (which I wouldn't have been able to do without your advice), they agreed with the diagnosis, and it was fixed for 50 Euro (about £34). BTW specific problem was blocked bulkhead drain leading to water coming through the pollen filter. Now back in the land of the dry.

Thanks a mill!

And thanks for the feedback. It all helps to add to the fund of technical information available for our members.
