Travel Assist.

Featured Replies

On my current car, with the Nav screen on, it continuously shows the current speed limit of the road I'm on.

I've read the section in the Superb Owners Manual but dont find it at all clear.

I have speced `Travel Assist`, so, does anyone know for sure whether or not it does show the current speed limit continuously?

(I'll miss that feature if it doesn't)

Many thanks

Mike.

I thought it used a forward facing camera to read road signs to confirm the limit against the roadside and then kept it displayed in the Maxi-Dot display?

From experience, the speed limit databases are terribly inaccurate, and having the camera on board is a big help if you happen to miss the last speed sign.

That may be true and if it is then great.

I thought though that on my Mazda it uses a combination of roadside signs and the Sat Nav to know where it is.

All I want is for it (whether in the Maxi-Dot or on the Nav sceen) to continuously display the speed limit of the road I'm on...and for it to change as I go into a different limit. If it achieves that, I'll be a happy bunny.

Meant to say - using the data in the Satnav as well as the camera....

I have it on the HUD in my X6 and it's very useful. Be nice to have a HUD in the S3 too, but that's probably another thing VAG won't allow them to get (like LED front lights instead of HIDs).

It does that on Octy 3, so Im quite sure it will do on the S3 aswell.
