Featured Replies

hi guys

my 2011 vRS is now at 40K miles

there are a lot of conflict info on net about wet and dry dsg gearbox. some says both dry and wet will need oil change at 40k. some says dry one doesnt needed.

so..............

thanks

No the 7 speed dry doesn't need regular oil changes like the 6 speed wet box does.

ah i see. i believe there is 7sp wet dsg gearbox out there. what car uses them?

how to find out if my vrs gearbox is wet or dry one?

thanks again

There is no Service Schedule for Oil Changes in a DQ200 7 speed Twin Dry Clutch DSG as fitted to a Mk2 vRS Fabia.

Skoda UK Started in May 2014 a Service Campaign on some of these gearboxes to change the Factory Fill Synthetic Oil

to Mineral Oil, and do a Software Update.

(Done Free.)

Never heard mention if this Mineral Oil is ever to be changed though.

Or if it is there for ever now.

??

Has your DSG been part of the World Wide Recall that in the UK /EU is a Service Campaign.?

http://master.skoda-auto.com/mini-apps/recall-actions

If your VIN does not come up as requiring any Service Campaign work,

still check with Skoda UK Customer Services if your DSG Requires any Field Actions.

here is the DSG Service Campaign as done in New Zealand.

Sadly Skoda UK never explained it publicly like this on their Websites.

*In the UK it is not only DQ200's from 2009-2011, Newer Cars DSG's have had the OIl Changed under the Service Campaign.*

How the heck do I know if my DSG needs a oil service. My service book has gearbox service intervals. 2012 Vrs Fabia Australia

Welcome.

Easy. It does not need one.

But if you want to have the 2 oils changed you can have that done.

By someone that knows what they are doing.

Your DQ200 is probably at 2012 not one as part of the 2012 World Wide / Australian Recall that had the Oil changed from Synthetic to Mineral.

But was it part of the 3 recalls in Australia on DQ200,s.  so '34H5', a software update.  Check in Australia. If due and if done.

Hi 37G8 recall was conducted so I (assume) that the gearbox oil is mineral? Would it hurt to have a service and make sure the correct oil is there?

Thanks

When was that done?

The Global Recall was on 2009-2012 DQ200 DSG,s and that was '34H7'.  Pre late 2012 cars.

?

Does your gearbox work ok?

Up to you if you want to have the DSG serviced.

The update (software) I think was done in July 13. Gearbox works fine. ,
