Mechanic/garage recommendations for Suffolk?

Featured Replies

Hi,

I have a 2004 VRS and am looking for any recommendations for independent specialists garage or mechanics in Suffolk, esp. Ipswich.

Any thoughts gratefully received.

thanks

Jim

There is one in Earls colne, Gages garage, and one in Colchester - Marks Tey called John Austin, the garages who cant solve problems speak to them...

I'm in Ipswich, I'm a spanner-twirler, but definitely not a pro. Is there anything you are after in particular? Just normal service work or rolling road/performance tuning etc.?

VW Audi Workshop just off Woodbridge Road came recommended by a friend, but I haven't used them personally:

My pal has a rolling road (amongst his repertoire of equipment) in Mendlesham, just off the A140.

Thanks for the info.

Cheers Mankee - I am just looking for normal service work and also have an issue with the exhaust. Am told the front flexi pipe is split which requires the cat being replaced as well as centre section hanger being broken. Took it to Halfords for free check - their prices are too much so may check out VW Audi Workshop as you suggets - for a second opinion and quote.

thanks

No probs! There are a few vRSs about on my travels. One of them belongs (I assume) to someone who works up at Kwit Fit next to The Thrasher on Nacton Road just off the Ravenswood roundabout. They might be able to look at it for a fellow Skoda owner.

Or, maybe this is the perfect time to decat it? I have a CAT section in the shed that I "refit" for my MOT tester each year, nudge, nudge wink, wink...

I may drop in to KFit on my way to work - see if your assumption is correct - i'll let you know.

I am about 1 out of 10 when it comes to mechanics - so decatting isnt going to happen!

I know how you feel lol!

Mines still waiting to go in next week for a major service plus the cambelt, waterpump and thermostat.
