Hey all,

I thought I would give a review of my New Superb as I've driven 1000 miles already.

Last week I took delivery of my 150 2.0 lt Diesel L&K DSG Hatch - Silver - Beige leather - Rear blinds - Sunroof - Paddle shift.

When I first set eyes on the car at the dealership I just couldn't believe how good it looked in the flesh. I think the sunroof really set it off. I was at the dealership for a few hours and then got my keys and off I went.

The drive home was great but was a little paranoid at driving due to the size of the car and all its features. I got plenty of looks and I still do to this date.

I've now done 1000 miles in the car and here is my conclusion. In my opinion i believe it's the best looking car on the market for the money. As its a L&K it's fully loaded and I've used almost everything apart from park assist. The Canton sound system is amazing, the TV is great, the seats are comfy, the sat nav is good, the kessy works well.

Now moving onto the DSG....... Not so great and not as smooth as a normal auto. In traffic at around 1-5mph the car stays in 2nd which creates engine noise. The engine itself is not quiet and does sound like a tractor. If you have the music on then it's not so bad but when its just the engine then it's loud. I've come out of a Peugeot 508 and that was much quiter and smoother. The DSG doesn't seem to work out the correct gear and when slowing and accelerating there's a juder. When the car is idle you can feel vibrations through the gear leaver. I have taken a few people for a spin in the car and they have all commented on the engine noise.

Apart from the grizzley engine and DSG the car drives well. I nearly went for a mazda 6 and had a long test drive in that. The auto box on the Mazda was incredible and smooth. Also the car drives much better than the new superb. I also drive the new mondeo and found that to drove better than the Superb.

The reason I went for the Superb was because its the latest car on the market, it's got all the kit and looks amazing. I just really wished the Diesel engine was smoother and the DSG worked better. I might take it in to Skoda to see if maybe I have a bad gearbox?

I'm no expert on DSG but remember this type of box needs time to 'learn' your driving style and it will take a while for it to adjust unlike an ordinary automatic box. It will become smoother after a while. You'll see plenty of comments on this particular topic from members on these boards. The cars looks really well though. The wheels and sunroof really set it off and of course being and L&K adds that extra touch of class!

Watch out that more recent S3 owners don't come and nick your wheels, replacing them with Helios!!!

A comment raised a lot in the past in respect of the DSG.

Put it in port and it will hold 1st gear.

I can't see the L&K badge on front wing?

Clearly is L&K as it has pegasus anthracite wheels
