Remap/tuning options?

Featured Replies

Hi there, just signed up, presently an E92 BMW 335i coupe (with a little remap) owner, My oldest lad has just moved up to his second Skoda, a MK3 Fabia Monte 110 in candy white (he previously owned a candy white Citigo 75 Greentech). A pretty little car and drives very well, i'm very impressed with it fair play and he's over the moon with it. I was quite taken with the MK 3 Octavia VRS at the showroom when we picked my lad"s car up, especially in estate model, looks a great car, a lot of car for the money I think. The problem is I do like to slightly mod my cars, remap, suspension etc. so maybe a late MK2 would be the way forward for me. Any pros and cons and what is possible to do to it off you present owners would be very welcome before I out my BMW.

Thanks :) ...

Hi, great starting point for your lads driving career.

The MK3 is one of the many models over a few marques heralding a move to angular designs. I like it too. Another option might be the Superb as it comes in a 2litre 280PS version and is possibly closer to refinement than the BMW, certainly in toys.

The MK3 Octavia rs in a 2.0 TSI has a few options, again depends how far the slope extends. A stage 1, remap gets you to around 285 bhp, going further might get you to 330ish.

Huck, one of our co-founders had a 335, described his as unholy, it created overtaking points that simple should not exist... He went to a suzuki swift sport/gt 'hot hatch' for his daily runner over the moors of the peak district as it was more fun to chuck about, bit like the citigo ;)

Thanks ColinD, my lad and I applied some Autoglym High Def wax to his Fabia this afternoon and then sealed it with some AG Life Shine (his first attempt at waxing a car) and it looks bloody great. I think I like it more than he does lol, really taken by it, I am liking what Skoda are putting out there nowadays.

I like the "Unholy" description you remarked that 'Huck' had said about his 335, a great description that. My 335 is circa 355-365 bhp with a stage 1 map and it does over take in a rather rapid way :giggle: .

The 330ish on the VRS does sound tempting. How much cost and whats involved for this sort of increase and how reliable? It wouldn't be my every day car, got an old Astra for work/every day etc.

My mates are asking me why i'm thinking of changing my BM to a Skoda? I don't really know, I just like the product and the looks and the value compared to the equivalent VW's etc.. My lads Citigo was a great little car, solid and well made and his new Fabia is a bloody superb little car in his and my eyes. I would like to see an all singing and dancing VRS version in the future if they make one...

Thanks :) .
