Slow seatbelt

Featured Replies

My seatbelt doesn't retract very fast. Is this something I can sort out myself? Thanks

besides making sure the belts and brackets are clean I would be intrested to know if there is any product that can be sprayed onto them to improve sliding action?

Mine is like this, so I just take a few seconds to help feed it back manually.

I just thought I might point out that I wouldn't spray anything like lubricant near the seat belt - if products get onto the seat belt webbing itself, they may cause a degradation of the material. And you don't want to find that out when you most need it!

It is likely to be wet, like mine, causing the webbing to swell slightly and the return to be slower

the cure I am yet to find - hoping a skoda tech has seen this on one in a workshop and can advise...

I've got this problem aswell, and my belt also feels damp !

Oh well, at least it is not just me lol

Think they are all the same. I'm thinking of buying a new set of belts for mine as it does my head in.

I think you'll notice this, effect much more in the winter when it's cold and damp and over the years your belts will have built up a later of crud which absorbs humidity and as said increases the friction in the fabric webbing so slows down the retraction. I have tried silicone dry spray before now. Point taken regarding affecting the material but reckon silicone spray is pretty inert.
