Driving this evening.

Flicked from full to dip and no dip beam on either headlight.

Back and forth five times and the dip came on if I pulled the lever back to give full beam flash and then released the lever.

Then no dip at all.

Main beam, fog lights and side are fine. Indicators are ok. and all other lights AFAIK.

Two 15A fuses are ok, 20 and 21.

Seems like the dip switch. Looking at the Haynes wiring diagram (12:23), it can't be anything else.

Can these switches be regreased or is a new one required? I tried some WD40 but no difference.

Spray some contact cleaner into the switch and give it a good wiggle workout, cures about 6/10 of the switch faults, not much to lose.

Sprayed it last night with some contact cleaner, which seemed to make no difference.

 

In the morning it worked fine.
