New mod on 2014 FL combi - Let it be light!

Featured Replies

Tested something real cool today! Using both brake and foglight in rear lamp as brake light. Throws out an amazing amount of brake light. I have now ordered a new RHD right lamp from UK. So very soon I have dual fogs as brake and foglight. Pictures coming up very soon! :)

Won't the excessive light output when braking hid your indicators if you are turning and braking simultaneously?  Standard brake lights are plenty bright enough.

I have to say this is pretty thoughtless for other road users. You certainly won't be cheered-on for your "cool" mod by the drivers behind you when you brake...

Surely there is a legal requirement for maximum light intensity on the different type of lights whether it's a brake light, fog light or tail light? I think you need to rethink that one, it will cause dazzling of other drivers and must be illegal too. Just think about how annoying it is when you have to sit behind someone who has forgotten to switch off their foglights - this will be the case every time someone is behind you at a set of traffic lights!

Have you seen the video of Lasse's LED indicators? They are akin to the landing scene in Close Encounters of the Third Kind. ;o)

I think my triton v3 from vleds will do the turn light job very well. ;) Tested yesterday. And it was no problem to see the turnlight.

U don't get dazzled, it looks more correct. Should been like this from factory :)

It seems that dazzling following drivers could be a problem!

Pictures please!

Was this achieved using VCDS?

Pictures coming!! I need to get the RHD right taillight from GB first.. I live in norway. ;)

I use VCP... U can program everything in light output.. Well worth the money!!! :D U can also use VAS 5054A clone from ebay. But VCP has many cool options. Like enable VIM on columbus. Disable start stop etc etc :) I really like the program.

With VCDS and VCP u have very powerful tools for VAG! ;)

I'm just glad you live in Norway and not the UK. I wouldn't want to be behind you at traffic lights when you are holding your DSG on the footbrake waiting for the lights to change, as most automatic drivers do.

I've seen cars with MUCH brighter brake light than Superb... So.. I dont think this is gonna be a problem! ;)

I must admit that when braking at night, my Superb lights up more road signs than the majority of other cars.

Lights with the intensity of fog lights etc are much worse on rainy nights.

The fog and brakelight have the same intensity! :) Gonna show comparison pics and video when it's installed!

Little more job than I tought... No wires into the connector on passenger side, so had to run a wire from drivers side.. But now it works :D

As u can see.. The turnliight is also visible :)
