4x4 manual?

Featured Replies

I have recently bought an Octavia Scout 184 DSG. I have looked through the owners manual and there is NO reference at all to the 4x4 system.

Should there be a different owners manual or a supplementary manual for the 4x4?

My car must be MY2015, it was registered 8 June. The manual is dated 11 2014 and makes no mention of Off Road Mode, can't see that the car has this facility.

Yes there are dimensions for the Scout, but no reference in the handbook about the 4x4 system.

There is not even any advice on towing the car should it breakdown. Can it be towed without damaging the transmission?

I would refer to the online manual posted by Philbes as the printed versions are never updated or corrected.

If you want a hard-copy then ask your dealer to replace it as it seems they've given you the wrong verison.

As far as I am concerned I think that the Skoda handbooks are the worst out of all the new cars I have owned.  Just bought an Octavia Estate 4x4 on a 65 plate, and have become hacked off with the layout.  For example there is nothing regarding the input of post codes into the sat nav and no mention at all of the fact that they can be put via voice.  No mention of the Haldex 5 4x4 system, worst of all is having to turn to other pages first to read some useless info which you don't need.  Customer Servicers agree as does the dealership.  Car good, book rubbish.  I could go on.

Its a problem when any company launches a new platform/product. Service information & the handbook is always last to get updated.

The latest online version seems more comprehensive.

Especially for "british" things like Postcode input, this will always be low priority as most countries in Europe use a more standard system region-code system.

I'm sure pretty soon the manual will only be electronic accessed through the entertainment unit.

On our BMW the basic "quick-user" guide is already found in the multimedia system.
