Bit "endy" on start up.

Featured Replies

Apologies if this has been raised before.

Just lately my Citigo sounds very agricultural for the first five minutes on a cold start up. There is a very distinct and loud clattering which sounds like tappets but more like "ends"

Can I assume this is until the oil is circulated to the clattery parts?

Mine has only done 12500 miles and has two oil changes.

Should I be thinking of oil additives or maybe a better kind of oil??????

Mine did this for a brief period then never done after that.

Mine does the same on cold starts. Wouldn't worry about it too much. Cheap car with no soundproofing, until everything warms up and gets going, it will sound a little interesting.
