The Warranty Provider pays for the test and the hire car etc if it is a 'Skoda Approved Used Car',

Colchester Skoda are doing no favours or Goodwill Gestures, they are making up for previous failures amd

misinformation, and they get well paid once they do Warranty Work like New OIl Spray Jets or a Replacement Engine

and if you have an Oil User, that is what is required.

It will not come back normal if you have checked correctly and it is using excessive oil.

4 Years now Dealership staff have been repeating this 'You will have to pay if it passes'.

Well failing does not mean you use more than 0.5 Litres in 1000 km (621 miles)

as the Service Desk and workshop staff should well know.

If you did pay, as other have, then the report would be yours,

and once you proved the 'Official Consumption test' was no Indication

of the faulty engine, if the test is done over 186 miles, or even 621 miles.

You claim your money back, and all expenses involved in some Official Dealership

messing you about.

This is what a rest result looks like, and the Bill.

Only this one was wrongly carried out, wrong weights, and the Customer never paid anything.

(it is good for asking a Service Desk Receptionist or Service Manager if they can see the error.)

Going to keep a close eye on consumption over the next fortnight.we dont really do alot of mile though and one other question does the vrs engine sit slightly higher on one side its not alot but looking at the engine bay the left side is slightly higher than the right side lol

Yes it does.

If your car does short trips and uses too much oil, then do the same routine during the Oil Consumption Test.

Longer runs with cars oil / engine up to temperature is not usually when people have high oil consumption.

?

Have you dipped your oil cold now, to see where it shows on the dip stick?

Cold its just below the full.on the hatched area it was to the top about 100 miles ago

Maybe best put in cold, a little oil, about 0.25 litres.

run the engine a minute.  leave it and check cold sometime later.

Hopefully it is just at the top of the Cross Hatch or just above.  that is not too full.

Then do your future checks, parked in the same place, and cold checks.

Many with 3.6 litres are between the cross hatch and the Top Orange Marker Cold.

On the smooth part.

Hot check is then just at or below the cross hatch.
