What is the difference between the mk1 and mk2 of the 1.3 mpi?

I've got a 1997 Felicia with a 135M, but it had an engine swap sometime before I got it, but I don't know how to identify the engine, if it is the one made from 94-97 or the one made from 98-2000?

I already know that the 135 and 136 have different camshafts, pistons and ECU. But what is the difference made in the model change in 97-98? I see that fuel consumption is supposed to be different, but is there any other way to tell other than consumption?

All input is appreciated

The 135M engine is the same from 07.96 on.
