Can anyone tell me where the ECU unit will be located on my Golf?

On my Golf II GTI 8v Digifant, I need to know where the ECU unit is located, I cant seem to find it easily on the internet....

It's not going to be on the internet!!! It'll be in your engine. That's your first mistake :rofl:

It's in the scuttle panel. Can't remember if it's on the driver or passenger side.

Open up the bonnet, prise off the rubber seal on the scuttle panel & unclip the plastic rain cover. You should the ECU mounted on a bracket.

The area below the windscreen. Also houses the wiper motor & linkages.

I've circled the ECU location on my old G60. Should be in a similar place on your Golf.

from memory its in the same place, definately under the milk tray cover tho :)
