Newbie to diesels & Skoda's

Featured Replies

Hi guys, got my new skoda fabia 1.9tdi a week ago, I absolutely love it since the first time I test drove it.. It's apparently got a hybrid turbo but no proof as the guy I got it off bought the car with it. It has a fmic & a remap to 180bhp. It apparently had the hybrid fitted AFTER the remap so I have room to play there when I get an uprated clutch.

It drives so nice, smooth & just feels brand new to be honest. It does kick out a fairly big cloud of smoke when you boot (which does look cool) but is from what I asume is not the best remap.

It's on 147k miles, it's a 2004 in black. I plan to buy some lowering springs to maintain some of the comfort of standard suspension, get a decent exhaust system, uprated clutch & a good remap to hopefully 200bhp or maybe a bit more. It's replaced a 200bhp Toyota starlet Glanza and is much more fun & nicer to drive. I just can't wait to make it my own!!

Hi Billy

If youre going to fiddle about with the suspension, its best to swap the dampers too.

IME the standard ones don't like shorter springs

Welcome aboard and good luck with the car

Hi Chris thanks for the advice, I might take a look at a damper & Spring set. I just don't want some cheap coilovers that will be a horrible ride.
