I'm thinking about getting a VCP, but what's the difference between the 2 cables? I got a VCDS cable but I've read that it can't code dual foglights or activate taillights with auto DRL unless I code in byte 18 and I'm not too sure about that

There are a lot of things that VCP cannot do that VCDS can.

 

Are there? I was under the impression that VCP could do everything VCDS can although it may not be as easy or obvious, even more so as VCP support tends to be less responsive than VCDS.

 

Definitely agree that VCDS is much more user friendly and would be the one I'd choose as a main interface.

You're correct, VCDS can't flash modules but in your previous post you mentioned that VCDS was able to do lots of things VCP couldn't?

How odd, standard CAN only VCP should work perfectly with the pre-FL and it listed to do so on their site.
