DCC Failure!

Featured Replies

One week and 320 miles after delivery the DCC System has failed.

No warning lights, no 'messages' on the screens. Nothing to indicate a fault other than the 'Mode' light comes on for approx one second when the button is pressed, and then goes out again. No on screen mode options at all.

Imagine the suspension set to 'Confort' and then made even soggier with the car leaning viciously on every corner and sounding like it's bottoming out. I thought 'Comfort' was bad enough, but this is just sick making!

Anyway it's in with the Dealer now and I have the Service Manager's Octavia VRS for the duration. They are also going to have a look into the Start/Stop system being somewhat eager to shut everything down whilst still in motion!

Is this an unusual failure, so plain bad luck, or have there been reliability issues in the past? I'm assuming it's just the control module that has gone down and needs replacing, but I am concerned at the complete lack of indication in the error reporting system that flags things to the driver to warn that the system has failed and you need to either stop, or get to a Dealer asap.

'Safe Mode', assuming it actually kicked in, to me meant no damping. Interesting read though - for us injuneers at least. Good find.

Car back. 3 errors logged in the ECU, all apparently related to 'Transport Mode'. From the description it sounded as if the mode had not been completely unset at the PDI and partly re-engaged so locking out the system. It wasn't in 'Safe Mode'.

The Service Manager listened carefully to my report of the Auto Start/Stop and is going to feed back into the Skoda Technical system. It definitely needs looking into as IMHO it's not exactly safe to have the engine shut off, so killing the power assistance.

I mentioned this today to my sales guy as well while mine was in - he thought it sounded strange as well

i'm going to monitor it for now
