OBD Diagnostics on a Renault Clio (04)

Featured Replies

I have a VCDS serial lead that I used to use on my mk1 Octavia.

Since it's OBD compliant, I'm assuming that I can use that on my son's Clio? Also I suppose I'll need a more generic form of OBD software. Any recommendations please?

thanks

VCDS has a generic obd section. Not sure if it's available on the light version.

Generic obd software don't think works with the VCDS lite KKL cable but could be wrong.

I use a £5 elm327 wifi obd dongle and £10 dash command on my iPhone. Works a treat.

Thanks for that. I'm suspecting a faulty coolant temp sensor and possibly an airflow sensor as well.

How come? I know a thing or two about Clios, drop me a bell if you get stuck

If its a petrol then I don't think then run a airflow sensor. Well the F4R doesn't any way.

It's a D4F which doesn't either, just goes through tb inside intake man where there's a map sensor

I've bought a ELM327 ODB unit. I have access to windows, iOS and Android systems. What systems are other members using for diagnostics this way? (other than using Torque etc for performance figures)

I use vcds on a number of non vag cars and find as good at engine diagnostics as many more expensive code readers, gives lots of info
