P910i Help

Featured Replies

Can someone please tell me how I can transfer photos from the phone to my pc and mp3 from pc to phone?

Its in the docking station and the usb is connected to the pc, the pc recognises it but the manual says I need to use file manager software on he cd, ive installed it and all it is for is syncronising emails, contacts, messages etc.

Unfortnately, it's no help, but I could never get that to work on the P900's........so it was returned. I always found Sony software to be troublesom and impossible to use.

If it gives you too much headache, a dirt cheap card reader that will do whichever daft format of memory stick it uses might be the easiest option.

Ive finally got a 23 in 1 memory card reader for my p910i which uses the memory stick duo memory card.

The reader didnt come with any cd. I plugged the reader into the usb port and the pc recognised it and requested the windows xp cd to be inserted as it need to copy some files, I did this and 4 removable disk drives were created f,g,h and i. There are 4 ports on the reader, when i insert the car to the collect slot a light comes on the reader but when i click to open any of the drives it asks for disk to be inserted when the card is already inserted, does anyone have any advice?

IIRC, when the software is installed I think that the P910i shows up in windows explorer or the desktop, double click it and it shows you the folders for local and mem stick storage, then with that window open you can just drag and drop from the desktop or wherever or copy and paste.

I'm a bit rusty on this but I am sure thats how I used to do it on my old P900

fluff

I used an infra red connection and handset manager with p800 + p900. Maybe the easiest option would be a bluetooth dongle for your pc.

i just sit my p910i in the cradle and double click the "My p910i" icon on the desktop that was dropped there by the sony software, never had a problem with it.

The phone is in the cradle now and the green light is one, the cradle is connected to usb port. When I double click the p910i icon on the desk top an empty folder comes up apart from an icon that says not connected. I dont understand as it is connected though and have used the same usb port to transfer mp3s to my sat nav.

You could try Float's Mobile Agent (FMA) which allows full access to my Sony Ericsson K300i, so may work with the P910i Sony's software only allows access to the picture and sounds folder on my phone, and I had to download the latest versions of file manager from the Sony Ericsson website before it connected OK.

Anyway, FMA is available here http://fma.sourceforge.net/index2.htm

You will need to find out what (and if, hopefully it is) the USB connection is mapped to a COM port - look in device manager under 'Ports (COM & LPT)' and set up FMA under tools|options to match before connecting to the phone.

By the way, thank VRStu for pointing out this software from my enquiry thread lower down in the tech shed.
