Yes they'll bolt straight in

only problem will be your airbags

mk1 VRS' don't have seat airbags but i'd imagine the mk2 does so you'll get a warning light on the dash

You can purchase a plug for the airbag harness in order to fool the canbus in thinking it is still connected and avoid any lights on the dash.

stick a post in the mk1 forum and 1,000,000 mk1 oners will literally bite your hand off (along with your forearm, your elbow and probably your shoulder) to do a swap

I've got the chance of some cheap Mk1 vRS seats and my sons recently bought a "basic" Mk2 Fab and the seats aren't great...

Thought if they went in it would look better and hopefully be a bit more supportive

So you will have a redundant air bag in the seat with nothing to plug it in to.

Don't have to do anything.

MOT tester had no issues with my car when the Airbag light flashed after I disabled the seat airbags with VCDS. Light flashes iirc 9 times but goes out, she was happy with that (council test centre no dodgy stuff) 

If theyre the cream MK1 RS seats then I wouldn't bother. Ball ache to keep clean. Proper ball ache.

Non sports seats are horrendous. I would go for it.

Easy enough to keep clean.

Once a week when hoover car or whatever just a microfibre cloth and some upholstery cleaner. Keeps them mint
