Disable automatic retraction of boot cover on estate?

Featured Replies

On the Superb Estate, there is a feature that automatically retracts the "boot cover" (the thingy that you can pull out from behind the seats to cover the boot, what's it called in english?) halfway when opening the boot. What it does is it opens the two latches that keep the cover in place.

Does anyone know if it is possible to stop this from happening? Preferrably in VCDS, but if that's not possible, any way would work. :p

I often don't need the cover to retract when I open the tailgate, cause I often load it all the way out and just need to reach in and get what I want. Also, it seems like it would be less wear and tear on both the latches and the cover if they didn't have to go in and out all the time!

Any help would be appreciated!

You can disable this in Maxidot. I'm away from the car, but it'll be in settings or a menu title like that

Yeah, I'll answer that question myself. It's in maxidot, I just hadn't understood the Swedish translation. Translated back to English it's "automatic roller blind" (the kind you may have on your windows at home) and I thought that had something to do with electrical blinds for the windows, maybe some extra my car wasn't equipped with. Next time, I'll try to read the manual better!

Is this on newer cars, mine's 2013 and can't seem to find the option to make it work or is it linked with the boot lids that open electrically

Cheers

it was a cost option- your car may not have it. If it does, it will be in the maxi dot

Bugger! Another option that I was not aware of and that my car does not have....ho hum :)

shame as I would have found this useful

Cheers
