those 2 projects are the ones i saw on google and attracted me to be a member on this forum  :D

need the engine mount brackets from a polo gti or ibiza cupra as that engine is a golf/leon/octavia chassis engine

ah cheers ben, i was looking at vrs ones lol!! will i need to change the brake master cylinder and servo to?

all you need mount wise is the polo gti /ibza/fabia tdi gearbox mount and you can use the mk4 golf mount you just need to drill 2 holes on the mounting plate and job done, dont waste ya money buying the polo gti mount as you will need to swap all the timing belt tentioner and pully and all that stuff makes much more sence and you will be ready to roll alot quicker :notme:

master and servo you are ok to use them as they are the same numbers are the same

Easier to buy a complete 1.8t Ibiza and swap all bits over,

That was the first plan or even a half cut, but the people downstairs complained to the council because I had an engine from a previous build near my door for 48 hours lol

LAD ^ :D

Never had to change any of the pulleys/ belts etc for mine. The mount brackets make it too wide to fit between the chassis legs and cocks it all up getting the engine central, the right height etc. The gearbox mount bracket is too wide and completely different for the gearbox mount. Servo will be grand, shafts and hubs will want changing to Ibiza cupra etc. Like Trevor has said easier to get a whole Ibiza. I used a octy vrs for mine only because I had one at the time and for no other reason because there are so many for complications/alterations to transplant golf based parts compared to polo based stuff

would the new engine fit in the back of the fabia without destroying the rear suspension? it seems to be the only way i can get it in to my garage from my cousins lol

Put a 1.8T+gearbox in the back of mine and drove from somewhere near Gloucester to Halifax with it no problems. You'll want to change the back suspension anyway at some point :)

Your best off getting a complete car as a donar as for plug and play you need the interior loom aswell as engine loom
