front fog magic

Featured Replies

With the dense fog yesterday had front and rear fogs on, but now when I turn side lights on, the front fogs automatically come.on (light on dash as well).

Tried pulling dial out to where it would switch it on normally and pushing back in to turn off but it still comes on with side lights...is there magic which forces fronts on automatically if foggy (think I know the answer here)

I imagine it will be the headlight switch. Mine gave way shortly after I bought my car and it would turn the front and rear fogs on intermittently when I turned the switch.

My car was under warranty and thankfully it was as the new switch was about £200.

What year is your car? I think I have one from an older vrs which I bought but wasn't the same as mine when I went to fit it.

56 plate, do you mean the switch in the cabin?

Yeah that's the one I changed and it cured the issue.

Can pick up switches off ebay pretty cheaply and its an easy swap as well.

ye will be the switch, my fogs would come on instead of day lights...

Before replacing the switch, why don't you just take it off and try to clean the connectors ? Maybe it is just moisture/dirt.
