Big Brake Upgrade

Featured Replies

Wonder if you can help me at all, Im wondering, is there is a big or common brake upgrade that everyone does for their mk2 octavia vrs?

If so what is it? what is needed etc?

Ta :)

Anything that fits a MkV / VI golf will fit an Octavia.

There are quite a few threads about this with various factory and aftermarket options.  Generally, anything OEM is heavy & only single piston floating caliper.  The aftermarket gear is lighter & multi-piston.

You need to ensure your wheels will fit over the calipers.

PB Brakes are a good starting point.

What's your budget?

Try searching for NQSBBK (Not Quite So Big Break Kit)

As above, the boxster S caliper upgrade (nqsbbk) is popular.  Keeps the 312mm disc but adds 4 piston brembo caliper.

I guess the key question is why you want to upgrade?  are you doing track days?

I dont think you meant to say Boxster S? I have those and they are a complicated fit to 321, 328 or 330mm discs.
