Car park dent

Featured Replies

I have a small dent in my door caused by me opening it into my gate [emoji19]. Its only visable when the cars clean but I'd like to get it fixed. Have any of you tried a mobile dent away type or should I take it into a proper body shop?

Thanks in advance

A few ideas

Heat the area up with a hairdryer. When nice and warm sorry it with a cold liquid. Compressed air is good.....the stuff you get in a can for cleaning fluff etc from computers .. It may pop out

You can get rubber suckers. Apply it over the dent and ease it out

You can also get a gadget that you stick a piece on the door and fix that to a clamp and ease it out

I have used all three with done success. I'm picky about damage ..... If it's good enough for me .... It's good

I assume the paint is all good.... If not then it's a bodyshop

Not sure who they used but our Volvo dealer in York had a parking dent removed from one of the doors as part of the purchase deal. I know they were a mobile outfit and they did an excellent job.

Provided the paint has not cracked, the advice by 33q is good.

I had a Yaris 3 door which had damage on the side 1/4 panel which is large, after heating it up I used the flat of my hand & the dent just popped out.

You could not see where it had been.

You will need to warm up the area quite a bit, so inside a garage is best. Don't overheat the affected area, as you could burn the paint. Not good.

Or, get in the Dent repair guys.

Get the Mobile dent repair people in they know what they are doing.... :|

I have used Auto Restore (part of Autoglass). They were excellent and reasonably priced. They come to you and have a tent arrangement on their van to cover your car and provide a clean dry environment to work in and do it all in one visit. Take a pic and email to them and they will give you a quote by email. They also spread the payment over 3 months and accept credit cards. They work on mine was first class even the scrapes on the bumpers went. The paint match was good with no overspray or steps from masking. they know the colour from the VIN code.

Good luck

I used a local paintless dent removal guy and was very impressed. I am a fussy so and so and couldn't believe he would be able to satisfy my critical eye, but I can honestly say I can't see any trace of the dent and he even found another one that I hadn't seen!
