Servicing

Featured Replies

Hi

Just after some thoughts and advice.

Am looking at the service plan by Skoda and it does not seem that much of a good deal £479 for three years but they are very clever in not actually saying what you get.  Doing some digging around it looks like 1 Oil Change after a year, a full service on Year 2 and then an Oil Change on Year 3.

Coming from the old way of working where it is a minor, major, minor, major service etc I am wondering if I don't bother with the service plan and just pay normally for services following this line as it would work out £58 dearer over the three years but seems like you get more.

Can anyone advise, as I am moving to Skoda from using dependants on a ten year old car.

Thanks

Paul

I have been looking at the Service side of things as well, like you, when looking at what they carry out for £479 I did not see this as good value for the money, I will go into my local main dealer and have a chat about what other options are available.

I was told on Tuesday that the service price has been increased to £538 (I think that is the value mentioned) so even less of a deal??

Having spoken with the service department at the local dealer today they have said that it is a

  • Minor @ 10,000,
  • Major @ 20,000,
  • Minor @ 30,000

He also said things like filters are not done as they are long life and will last until 60,000.
