  1. The best I have got from the KIA was 5.7, only once though, on average it's 4.3 - 4.6, sometimes I dip down to around 3.4.

  3. Very good points made there, I could only relate to my current experience with the Kia, rear discs still in very good condition. I am seriously looking at returning to ŠKODA, especially the Enyaq as a replacement for the Kia.
  4. Interesting point, I know that the rear discs have been an issue on many different manufacturers EV’s. I currently have a KIA E Niro 4+, interestingly I haven’t had any issues with the rear discs. The KIA is okay, just okay, but build quality hasn’t matched that of my MK3 Superb SE L Executive which I really miss.
  5. Can anyone explain to me why ŠKODA have fitted drum breaks to the Enyaq.

Sadly I decided to sell my beloved Superb, after 5 good years, due to several factors, change in circumstances and with COVID I just don't do the miles that a diesel needs to keep it sweet, luckily my brother in law has brought it from me, so she stays in the family, it has been a terrific car, and a joy to drive, I will miss that BIG car. It left my garage for the last time on Sunday, and today I picked up my first EV, E-Niro 4+, brand new, ordered 3 months ago, so a new motoring chapter starts in my driving career, I will continue to monitor this great forum, so to all of you, I wish you a Happy New Year.

When I purchased my Superb SEL Exec, one of my main concerns was the poor length of Warranty offered by Skoda, and if you wanted a decent length of warranty you have to pay even more for what is already quite an expensive car, this really is very short sighted by Skoda and they should really look at offering their customers as good a warranty service as offered by South Korean manufactures. As we are all aware there is a vast market out there for us to choose from, and with Hyundai and Kia offering substantially better warranties 5 and 7 years, and very attractive cars, many of us will look very hard at what we purchase next. I regularly read the post on this site, and I am shocked at some of the awful failures that people have suffered and the battles that they have fought to get such serious issues resolved, I have also received some appalling service from my local Skoda Dealer who damaged my car during a service and then offered nothing in compensation other than a free MOT next service, on insisting on speaking to the Dealer Principle his arrogance and rudeness to me was incomprehensible, as if it was my fault that they damaged my car, I have never returned since. I had a friend whose Hyundai was only 3 months from the end of its warranty, his car was in for service, on picking it up he commented on the lacquer failing on his wheels to the dealer, he never gave it anymore thought, a few weeks later the dealer contacted him to say that a new set of alloys had arrived supplied under warranty, and could he book the car in to get them changed, now that is what I call customer service. With my car now being 5 years old I have been looking at a replacement, my son has a Hyundai it is a fantastic car and the customer service he has received from dealers in Southampton and in Gloucester has been brilliant, so my next car will probably be from Kia mainly due to the included 7 year warranty.

Had Cam Belt and Water Pump, Aux Belt etc changed in September, car is now 5 years old but only 20K on the clock, to me Cam Belt change every 4 year or 40K miles is ridiculous on a modern car but I could not risk not changing it, luckily my friend runs his own garage, so it was done at a very reasonable price using genuine Skoda parts. I am now at the point where I am asking myself if an ICE car is really suitable for me and the journeys that I now make, cam belt change every 4 years regardless of mileage is the deciding factor.
  10. I have to ask how the hell did this get through quality control, totally unacceptable in my opinion. I had a company Octavia ordered many years ago, during the PDI a turbo charger fault appeared on the dash board, this required the removal of the turbo and a new unit to be fitted, I was informed by our transport manager and advised to reject the car which I did, his opinion was if it starts with that issue at PDI then what else was waiting to pop up its head.
  11. £549 is for the Cambelt & Water Pump, including a new cam belt tensioner, the water pump is a know long term issue, get both done at the same time, if the water pump fails your being doing the Cam belt again, never change just the Cam Belt, get them both done now. The Cambelt drives the Water Pump, the Water Pump has an electro magnetic clutch which energises to drives the pump once the engine is up to temperature., hence to cost of £100.

Wife's Focus is 16 years old, and only just coming up to second cam belt, on the assumption that we replace the Superb Cam belt every 4 years that's 4 Cambelt and Water pump changes in 16 years if you keep the car that long which I did with my last car. As many know Skoda Cam Belt & Water Pump replacement is not cheap, for the 2.0 TDI it is £549, on a modern car I don't think this requirement every 4 years is acceptable, and that makes you ask questions about the durability and quality of the VAG based engines. A full service every 2 years, cost £289, so every 4th service will cost you a minimum of £838, that's without brake fluid change of £60, then there is the DSG oil change as well at some point, £199, really makes you think hard about your next choice of car, something I never really took into consideration when I purchased the Superb.
  13. I thought it was 4 years or 40,000, left it until this year, 5 years old. Really disappointed that this is required at such a low age and mileage, only 20,000 on the clock, I do long runs from Southampton to my son in Gloucester, so not many short journeys. After 3 years of diabolical sh-t service by Skoda Main Stealer whilst under Skoda warranty period, and having suffered body work damage and watching the technician trying to drive off with the MOT Exhaust analyser still attached to the exhaust pipe, I would never return to the them. Luckily I have a friend I have known for over 30 years , who runs his own independent garage, he looks after all of our family cars, he carried out Cam Belt & Water Pump Kit replacement, full service, plus also had a glow plug failure, No2 cylinder,P0672, engine management light on. brake fluid change, he did all the above for £800 including VAT, using genuine Skoda / VAG parts, I should have taken it to him from day one, as he said, but always nervous when under Skoda warranty. My wife's Ford Focus, which she refuses to let go, now has110,00 miles on the clock, just coming up to it second Cam Belt change, unbelievable, not sure i would buy another Skoda to be honest,.
  14. Replaced mine a couple of weeks ago, original lasted just over 4 years, battery replacement quite easy, just flicked out key and then just using my thumbs, popped the cover off as shown in the manual, no tools needed.
