Old member....new car

Featured Replies

It's been a wee while but the Skoda brand has made its way back into our "stable".

We bump around with mostly VWs across all household members - give or take, however the new acquisition is an 11-reg Yeti 2.0TDi SE with just 23k on the clock.

The car was bought with a bit of damage and it's been a chore to get it sorted due to delays at bodyshop, however it's now back in my possession and almost complete.

Have bought a few parts from the stealers but acquired larger bits second hand to keep costs down.

The price of panels and bumpers has about doubled in less than 10 years - seems crazy!

For the rear bumper I could have had it repaired however the stupid black textured plastic was scuffed and seeing as a new shell (just this bit) was over 350 quid I decided otherwise.

I did some research and examined the facelift models - and found the bumper much nicer but would still fit the pre FL version.  I found a used bumper for 60 quid complete.

The only slight issue was parking sensors are different despite using same module.

Got new sensors from germany less than 50 quid for 4x brand new!

The front parking sensors were fitted by a previous owner and unfortunately aftermarket.

If I feel the need, I may update the PDC module and but OEM sensors for front and the loom.
