DSG Playing up

Featured Replies

Good Morning all,

Well after 40,000 km's the DSG is going loopy. Thankfully still under warranty and going to the garage on Tuesday.

Below is a link of what its doing.

Only does it when I start the car and its cold. Go a couple of miles and up flashes gearbox error and asks me to apply the break, which is not always possible when you have cars behind you and going down a main road.

I think its just a software fault as soon as I restart the car its fine.

Lets see next week what they come up with.

Forgive me for Speaking in Czech and with a cold, thus i sound like Michael Caine and ''i'm a nosy neighbour''

Hopefully the Skoda Factory can collect your car from the Dealership and properly diagnose the Fault

and then ensure that they fix what ever issues they have at the Factory on the Production Line or with their

parts suppliers for ECU's and MCU's.

Save more buyers suffering the issues that seem to keep being ongoing.

This member posted last year, sounds similar.

I would not say its similar. My problem does not happen when I start the car. My mistake to mention that I took the video from when i stopped. The car told me to stop and I did and then recorded the video.

As I say its literally over the last couple of weeks left me in the middle of a junction when pulling out or had to stop on a main road and put the hazards on and restart the car.

I don't get any esc or other warnings.

I would say either mechatronic software problem or the mechatronic.

Yes I hope the Skoda factory takes a note and sends it on but however in Czech, Skoda are looked down at by VW and shall make no difference.

Thanks for the help though.

That will be the very similar issue as other Owners / Drivers have had that is in the various Threads and posts including the ones pinned at the top of this page that you already posted in.

All the best with it.

They must take notice.

They did World Wide Recalls which Excluded the EU, because it was accepted as a Safety Issue,

just not a Safety Issue in the EU.

Service Campaigns here.

Be sure all dealings are Logged and in Writing, and raise your case with SKODA CZ Customer Services and get a Handler.

this was the New Zealand Service Campaign on the DQ200 7 Speed Twin Dry Clutch Box,

and that is well covered elsewhere.

http://skoda.co.nz/news/dsg-service-campaign

In the UK Skoda never started Service Campaign Field Actions until May 2014.

If you have issues still with New Skodas, then there is a New CEO @ Skoda,

be sure that your Emails are forwarded to him, and other senior Exacutives,

and since VW are going through a 'Trust Rebuilding Exercise' with Openness and Honesty,

surely you will get good Customer Service and a vehicle Fit for Purpose.

Just do not take your car back until properly repaired and be sure to get a Like for Like Courtesy car.

Courtesy car, whats that? I have already had my car back on warranty when the engine played up after 19,000 Km's. You don't get Courtesy cars here unless you pay for it. No matter what Skoda dealer you go to or whatever make. It's not in the law that they have to, so they don't It's down to there free will. In Czech Republic, they are the tightest ******s you will find.

You have to be careful, they'll have your boxers off before you know it and on sale down the Sunday market.

I posted in the DSG thread and no one replied in a couple of days, so started a new one.

Well thats great for the EU. Classic example of how clever they are. They bankrupt countries but when it comes down to faults that leave you sitting in the middle of a junction, thats ok.

Shall ring around some skoda dealers, perhaps some may of realised its 2015 and have some customer service. The one I got to have large fleets going in there are really could not care about the average joe, as they know they have contracts to services thousands of cars.

Also they have a month to find the problem.  :(

Great times ahead

Sad to hear.

'Simply Clever',

or just 'Simply useless at Customer Service & after sales support in their own home market'.

all the best with them.

.........................................

Here is the Dude that is going to have Skoda customers treated right no doubt.

Maybe he can sort out Skoda Quality Control and Customer Service.

Well rung around some other dealers and they all gave the same answer.

It is sad.

Skoda CZ will decide if a free courtesy care is valid or not after they have inspected the car. So I get a free repair but have to pay a couple hundred notes on a courtesy car, as i know they will take over a week to repair it.

Thankfully I still have my old reliable Clio. 17 years old, 60k on the clock, still running a dream. Shall have to take her out of the garage.

The new Skoda CEO Bernhard Maier will not make a difference. The problem is that Skoda cars are everywhere. The market % is off the chart. Shall have to look at the figures. The Czech's are very proud of their country and nationality. Thus everyone buys a Skoda. Do a google map street view of Prague and literally 6 in 10 cars, is a Skoda. So the point is they don't care. They know if they annoy one person (me) and I don't buy a Skoda again another 5 million people will.

Well almost. But i see where you are coming from.

Last year was the first time in 119 Years that they built over 1 Million cars.

Hungarian family find it funny that i have Skodas and Suzuki's!

Skoda's are still laughed at from it's history and not all people realise that they are a VW with a different skin on it. Thus Czech's too also used to question an English man why he bought a Skoda in England.

Suzuki I question till today ;)

Well the car is being fixed and they have found the mechatronic on is playing up. Thus a new one is being put in tomorrow and new software. Thankfully its on the warranty otherwise would be looking at a £1,300 repair bill after only 40,000 km's.

Only one good thing out of this, my 17 year old Clio is loving getting daily use again :) might get her up to 62,000 miles this year ;)

Octavia should be ready I hope for the weekend. Knowing the Czech's though they shall give it back to me next week.
