That's a weird one really as megs 205 is a great finishing polish and recommended by Alot of professionals.. I've used it myself quite a lot with no issues either

Wonder what the problem was. Are they really soft paint or?

I've seen Meg's 205 used on soft Honda paint - no issues at all.

Wondering what is amiss here on the Fiesta - to be honest mate.

 

Has it had any paint repair/respray at some point?

Have you changed the pad or checked for contamination/rewashed the polishing pad?

Even double check the microfibre used for wipedown - maybe?

Is the Meg's 205 contaminated or going off?

 

... all things to check.

Yeah I've never had an issue using it before, so I've decided it's either the pads or the MF towels and have some new bits to collect tomorrow morning from the Post Office, but ordered some Blackfire just in case.

Just bought last night from Auto Finesse website, Total & Spritz interior cleaner, Have used total yesterday on a dirty dashboard & it came up a treat, very impressed, & has that matte OEM finish look, also cleaned the whole dash area & door cards etc, bought Auto Finesse upholstery brush for carpets & seats, Dressle engine bay/area cleaner & looking to get an auto finesse detailing bag to leave in the boot of the vRS.

 

but most of all I need one of these

Very nice - i have Total and Spritz but never tried Dressle.

 

Lately i have changed to some cheaper options from EZ car care though - purely on price/deals available.

Agree with you there samuir about the price & with the EZ range/products you get a lot of bang for your buck, especially if you get the ebay auction deals  the only reason why I purchased the auto finesse products, is purely because of trying out total last week on a very dirty stained dashboard, plastic door cards, plastic seals inside the car & was actually blown away with the finished result.

 

The smell was actually decent too, not overpowering & not pleasant but actually ok, but the result was perfect, hardly used any of the total product but yet it still managed to bring a very uncleaned/dirty dashboard (not cleaned in like 3 years ) to a brilliant oem matte finish look, so just on that basis alone, I thought why not order a few more products of Auto Finesse to try out as I go along.

 

Definitely looking forward to trying spritz on the vRS dashboard as thats pretty much clean most of the time How do you find the spritz?

AF spritz was my favoured product for a couple of years - in fact i recall i got a 3 for 2 deal at the time - so i used it a lot!

 

Now i use EZ Sleek and like this one and prefer the smell i think.

I couldnt say its any better or worse - just my preference esp at the price.

Yep EZ Sleek is great, my trial bottle I got from ebay is really low, I didn't like it at first if I'm honest (thought it was sticky) but after giving it another try, I found It to have a clean fresh satin look, close finish to oem dashboard & definitely a very good price for 1L @ £12.99
