Needle not glowing

Featured Replies

Last couple of days my Rev counter needle has been flickering and has now totally stopped illuminating,

seems to be a problems others have come across on the site but cant find that anyone has actually solved the issue??

I am aware of companies that can recondition dash panels but been tight i cant really justify that cost for just a rev needle not illuminating sooooo

I am thinking of investing in the permanent glow in the dark paint, pulling the dash panel to pieces and painting it up!!

any thoughts???

Live with it. Seriously. It's easy to adapt and if it costs a fortune then I don't see the reason for the repair...

by the way, it's not the worst case. For me 2 needles often flicker and it's way more annoying than dark ones. But actually it's not a big deal after all. There are worse problems and this doesn't affect performance of your car at all.

I'd want it fixing too ;)

Rather than send it away to a company you might find someone local that can do it as mentioned in this thread: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/304184-speedo-needle-bulb-led-blown/

Anywhere that is used to repairing pcb's should be a good shot, not sure on price but it's been suggested that £100 or less should get it solved.

Hmm think ill look into local company's that may be able to to put me a new led bulb in then, i could live with it i suppose but i like things to work as they should even if it is a 8 year old car!!

And talking of OCD don't get me starting on having to have center caps all aligned properly with the spokes and oil filler caps having to be the right way around when locked down
