I had 4 new tyres fitted yesterday.

Whilst waiting I asked the guys fitting if they could inflate to 35 psi (which is what I run at).

Anyhow all tyres fitted with no damage To alloys and in good time so very pleased.

Out of interest I was passing a garage today so popped in and checked pressures.

To my surprise the pressures were:

54, 43, 31 and 25psi. Very random. I inflated all to my chosen psi.

Anyone else found this?

Just s bit odd how different they all were when I asked for a specific pressure in purchase!

Surely 54psi is well above the recommended maximum pressure marked on the tyre's sidewall?

I know quite random.

I though perhaps I annoyed them by saying what psi I wanted them at but surely I can't be the first to do that!!

Simply the guys don't want or don't know how (I find this hard to believe) to inflate your tyre properly. I don't see any problems with you asking for the right pressure. One likes 35 psi, one 25, somebody maybe 45.

Probabaly they were inflated without any pressure measurements (the same you do with the simplest air pump - pump until you think it's enough).

54 might be inside the allowed range. My Michelin winter tyres have 60 psi as max. pressure. Sure, I wouldn't inflate them THAT much
